Who, What, and Why?

This is the Official Unofficial Antiochian Southern California Deanery Youth Ministry Website!

On September 5, 2011, His Eminence, Archbishop JOSEPH, appointed Christian as the Southern California Deanery Youth Director. This blog is intended for the promotion of youth ministry in the Deanery.

Christian graduated from Wheaton College (Wheaton, IL) in 2007 with a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature and Theater. In July 2011, he graduated from Azusa Pacific University (Azusa, CA). He has worked with young people in the last few years in various capacities. He has: spent the last three years working as a counselor at Camp St. Nicholas, one of which he was the head counselor; taught Sunday Education; taught Christian Education; acted as a youth director for a local parish; been a YES trip leader; and spent a year working as a therapist for children and adolescents. Christian currently remains dedicated to helping pastors, parents, and local youth directors to aid their young people grow in Christian love, fellowship, and virtue.

As part of this position, Christian will be making rounds to the parishes of Southern California, working closely alongside the pastors, youth directors, parents, and teens of each parish. The aim of this work is to help each parish strengthen its youth ministry, and as each parish strengthens, so will the deanery, diocese, and archdiocese.

Through this blog, stay connected and know Christian’s schedule as he makes his rounds to the parishes of Southern California. Also on this website, feel free to ask questions, state needs, and request Christian’s attention for your own youth ministry work!

This blog will also be one medium by which helpful resources and deanery-wide information will be shared, so please stay connected!

Thank you for your support of this valuable ministry!
